Perfitt Named SCAC Swimmer of the Week

89969January 21, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. —  DePauw sophomore Tyler Perfitt has been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for his performances at the Washington (Mo.) University Invitational.

Perfitt posted two lifetime bests and nearly a third. In the 500-yard freestyle he finished in 5:06.69, which was a 7.76-second drop from his previous best.

He continued with another lifetime best by swimming a time of 18:07.90 in the 1,650 free which was a 13.36-second drop.

Perfitt ended the week by clocking a 1:53.62 in the 200 free which was just .4 seconds shy of his best performance.

As a team, the 19th-ranked Tigers placed fourth at the meet.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, January 22, at Illinois Wesleyan.
