Kuresman wins Wilson/ITA Central Region singles title

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - DePauw senior Marshall Kuresman defeated Chicago's Ward Bortz by a 6-3, 6-3 score to win the Wilson/ITA Central Region Men's Singles championship. Kuresman, seeded fourth, defeated top-seeded Ari Rosenthal of Washington (Mo.) in the semifinals by a 6-4, 6-0 score. Kuresman now advances to the ITA National Small College Championships at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Fla., Oct. 14-17.

The doubles team of Donald Person and Evan Webeler lost their first round match, but came back to win the consolation bracket with five straight wins.
