Tigers earn three of five ITA regional award

May 15, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw men's tennis team picked up three of the five regional honors selected by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

DePauw head coach Tom Cath was named the Central Region Coach of the Year, while Kortney Keith was named the Rookie Player of the Year and Marshall Kuresman earned the Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship.

Cath directed the Tigers to another top-10 national ranking and an appearance in the NCAA Championships. In 20 seasons with DePauw, his teams have posted a 290-142 record.

Keith posted a 22-4 singles record in his first season with the Tigers including a 14-1 mark at number three singles. He finished the season with 10 straight match victories. In doubles play, Keith finished with a 15-5 record. He was named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference all-tournament team in both singles and doubles after going undefeated in both at the conference championships.

Kuresman, a two-time all-America selection, is currently 27-5 in singles play headed into the NCAA Division III Singles Championship. He also was part of doubles teams that recorded a 16-7 record. This season he was named to the SCAC's all-tournament team and to the all-conference squad.
