Tigers win sixth straight to improve to 11-8

LaGrange, Ga. - The Tigers improved to 11-8 on the season and picked up their sixth straight win in a 4-0 shutout victory at LaGrange. LaGrange dropped to 10-11 on the campaign.
DePauw scored two unearned runs in the second as Zach Harris led off with a base hit before Jon Gratz picked up a two-out single and Kyle Dobbs drew a walk. Back-to-back fielding errors in the infield gave the Tigers a 2-0 advantage.
The Tigers picked up two more in the ninth as Harris singled and Chris Newman walked. Gratz then drove a shot to right center for a triple that made it 4-0.
DePauw used four pitchers and they allowed just five hits to the Panthers. P.J. Mitchell, Tyson Becker, Dave Edmonds and Mark Alson combined for nine strikeouts and just two walks. Mitchell picked up the win and improved to 4-1 on the season, while Also recorded his second save. LaGrange starter Alan Barnes dropped to 1-2 on the season.
Harris and Gratz each had two of the Tigers' five hits, while Derrick Manley had two for the Panthers. The shutout was DePauw's fifth in the last eight games.
The Tigers return to action on Thursday, March 25, when they travel to 12th-ranked and 25-0 Emory University.Back
