DePauw finishes second at SCAC Championships

Atlanta, Ga. - DePauw totaled 188 points and finished second at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at Georgia Tech. Trinity won the meet with 229 points.

 

Shaneka Terrell won the long jump for the second consecutive year with a leap of 5.09 meters, while Aidan Yandell was second at 5.03 meters. Terrell won the triple jump at 11.31 meters and Yandell was also second in the 100 meters in 12.94 seconds and in the 200 meters in 26.73 seconds.

 

Heather Byars was victorious in the shot put at 10.99 meters with Beth Kline took first in the discus at 37.61 meters. Betsy App third in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 11:53.92, while Amanda Royalty was third in the 1,500 meters in 4:52.68. Lauren Budreau was second in the high jump at 1.88 meters.

 

The 4 x 100 relay of Debbie Bushouse, Yandell, Brittany Hizer and Katherine Backes was second in 50.33 seconds with the 4 x 400 relay of Terrell, Yandell, Backes and Hizer finishing second in 4:05.55.

 

The top three in each event earned all-conference honors.
