Three Tigers earn all-SCAC honors

Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw softball team placed three players on the all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference team in voting by the conference's eight head coaches.

 

Third baseman Jessica Bowlds and center fielder Nicole Kernan were chosen to the second team, while catcher Ashley Sewell was an honorable mention choice.

 

Bowlds, who started all 37 games for the 14-23 Tigers, was second on the team with a .306 batting average and a .444 slugging percentage. Kernan also started in all 37 games and hit .279 and tied for the team lead with 23 runs and 34 hits. Sewell, a first team choice last year, hit .293 in 37 games and led the team with 10 doubles. Sewell led the team with 11 multiple-hit games.
