Three Tigers named to all-Mideast teams

Greencastle, Ind. - Three DePauw baseball players earned all-Mideast honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association. Senior first baseman Kevin Ehinger and junior second baseman Ryan Sipe were first team choices, while sophomore pitcher P.J. Mitchell was a second team selection.
Ehinger hit .415 on the season with a team-high 10 home rus and a school-record 65 runs batted in. He led the team with a .769 slugging percentage and was second with 43 runs and 113 total bases. Ehinger also led the team with 18 multiple-RBI games including six with four or more. He finished with a .992 fielding percentage with just three errors in 381 total chances. Ehinger finished his career by hitting safely in 15 straight games and in 35 games overall throughout the season.
Mitchell finished the season with an 8-3 record including a team-best 1.78 earned run average. He led the Tigers with eight complete games including two shutouts. He struck out 62 and walked only nine in 86 innings to post the best walks per nine innings ratio in school history at .94. Opposing hitters batted just .237 against Mitchell in his 14 appearances.
The Tigers finished the season with a school-record 28 wins against just 14 losses.
