Wiethoff named SCAC Offensive Player of the Week

wiethoff100904.jpgGREENCASTLE, Ind. - DePauw junior quarterback Ross Wiethoff has earned Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance in DePauw's 41-26 win at Centre.

 

Wiethoff completed eight of 13 passes for a career-high 240 yards with three touchdowns and just one interception and an efficiency rating of 277.38. His touchdown passes went for 70, 56 and seven yards. He also rushed 11 times for 24 yards and another touchdown.

 

He is the third DePauw player to earn conference player of the week accolades in 2004 as Jamarcus Shephard and Dustin Hertel did so earlier this year.

 

For the season, Wiethoff ranks second in the SCAC and eighth in Division III with an efficiency rating of 163.7.

 

The Tigers, 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the SCAC, wrap up conference play on Saturday against Rose-Hulman. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m. at Blackstock Stadium. The live broadcast is available through WGRE and the live, in-game stats will be posted here.
