Tiger baseball team picked second in SCAC East preseason poll

February 10, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - In voting by Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference coaches, the DePauw baseball team was picked to finish second in conference's East Division.
The Tigers picked up one first-place vote and 21 total points to place behind Rose-Hulman which totaled four first-place votes and 24 points. Sewanee was third with 15 points, while Centre was fourth with nine and Oglethorpe fifth with six points.
DePauw lost just four players to graduation from a squad that finished the 2004 season with a school-record 28 wins against just 14 losses.
Trinity was the pick to win the West Division followed by Millsaps, Southwestern, Rhodes and Hendrix. Trinity also was the coaches' pick to defend its 2004 conference championship.
DePauw opens the 2005 season on Tuesday, February 22, when it travels to Indiana University for a 3 p.m. contest. That game will be carried live on WGRE.
