Two DePauw women earn all-SCAC first team honors; Argetsinger named Player of the Year for second straight season

argetsinger012305.jpgFebruary 27, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw senior forward Amy Argetsinger became just the third women's basketball player in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference history to earn the conference's Player of the Year award in consecutive years. The announcement came during the SCAC tournament in Memphis.

The 23-4 Tigers square off today with 22-4 Trinity at Noon CST at Rhodes College in Memphis with the SCAC title and automatic qualification into the NCAA Division III Championship at stake.

Argetsinger, who is DePauw's all-time leading scorer and ranks fifth in SCAC history with 1,414 career points, enters today's SCAC championship game as the team's leading scorer with 14.4 points per game. She's second on the squad with 5.0 rebounds per contest. She finished the regular season ranked sixth in the SCAC in scoring, second in field goal percentage and fifth in free throw percentage. She made her third appearance on the all-SCAC first team.

Senior guard Sarah Zondor also earned first team honors after being named to the second team a year ago. Zondor is second on the Tigers in scoring with 13.6 points per outing and leads the squad with 34 three-pointers.

Sophomore guard Suzy Doughty was named honorable mention and currently averages 5.8 points. 3.5 assists and 2.2 steals per outing.
