Tigers open series at Sewanee with win; second game halted

March 25, 2005, Sewanee, Tenn. - DePauw opened the first game of its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series with Sewanee with a 15-11 victory and the second game was halted due to darkness with the teams tied at 4-4 with two outs in the bottom of the eighth.
Matt Deahl collected four hits for the Tigers with Zach Harris adding three and John Younger, Ryan Sipe, Greg DeBeer and Adrian Norris each collecting two. DePauw finished the game with 17 hits. Sewanee picked up 19 hits with David Tipps leading the way with four. J.R. Candlish and Casey Cook each picked up three hits with Lane Shackleton and John Davis each adding two.
P.J. Mitchell improved to 3-2 with the win, while James Hall dropped to 0-5 with the loss.
