Wiethoff named SCAC Offensive Player of the Week

wiethoff100904.jpgSeptember 19, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw senior quarterback Ross Wiethoff has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Tigers' 38-12 win at Hope.

Wiethoff completed 8 of 11 passes for 231 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions - all in just three quarters of play.

Wiethoff, who had a pass efficiency rating of 309.13 for the day, also rushed for 41 yards and a TD on nine carries and caught a 41-yard pass from receiver Brian Culp.

For the season, Wiethoff is leading the SCAC in total offense, averaging 258.0 yards per game. He is also second in the league in passing yards per game (208.5) and pass efficiency rating (153.5).

DePauw travels to Trinity on Saturday, September 24, for a 7:30 p.m. contest which is the SCAC opener for each team.
