Bondi earns fourth SCAC Player of the Week honor this season

February 6, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw senior forward Liz Bondi has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 30 through Sunday, February 5. She is the first player to receive four such honors in one season since Megan Selmon of Trinity did so during the 2000-01 season.
Bondi averaged 24.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in leading the fifth-ranked Tigers to their 19th and 20th consecutive wins of the season in victories over Hendrix and Rhodes.
Bondi shot 61.3 percent (19-31) from the field for the weekend and was 10 of 13 (76.9 percent) from the charity stripe. For the season, Bondi is averaging 17.0 points (fourth in the SCAC) and 7.0 rebounds (ninth in the SCAC) per game and is leading the league in field goal percentage at 56.8% which ranks 21st in NCAA Division III play.
The Tigers are 21-1 overall and 11-0 in the SCAC and have equaled the school and conference record for consecutive victories. DePauw ranks second in Division III in winning percentage and have posted the most wins of any program in the nation. The Tigers travel to Centre on Friday, February, 10, for a 6 p.m. contest.
