Tigers finish second at SCAC Championships

February 11, 2006, Cleveland, Miss. - The DePauw women's swimming and diving team totaled 661 points and finished second at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. Trinity won its third straight title with 942 points.

In Saturday's final day of competition, Katie Doogan earned all-SCAC honors with a second-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:10.75. Megan Davenport finished second in the 100 freestyle in 53.93 seconds and Amanda Stier won the 200 butterfly in an SCAC-record 2:10.67.

DePauw's 400 free relay of Doogan, Stier, Davenport and Maddison Hamil closed out the meet by winning in  3:35.75.

Doogan was third among the top point scorers with 54 points, while Hamil and Stier tied for seventh with 52 each and Davenport was 10th with 48. Trinity's Lindsay Weigley was first with 57 points.
