Huffman named WBCA Regional Coach of the Year

huffman031006.jpgMarch 15, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - After leading the Tigers to a school-record 29 wins and a trip to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals, DePauw women's basketball coach Kris Huffman has been named the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Region 6 Coach of the Year in Division III.

This year's Tigers finished with a 29-2 record after winning a school-record 28 straight games including their fourth Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title.

In 13 seasons as DePauw's head coach, Huffman has posted a 273-79 record including NCAA appearances in seven of the last 10 seasons.

Huffman was the Division III Coach of the Year in 2002 and a District Coach of the Year in 1999, 2001 and 2002. Earlier she was named the SCAC Coach of the Year for the fourth time in eight seasons.
