Second-ranked Tigers win Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling; Gates earns medalist honors

April 9, 2006, Normal, Ill. - DePauw shot a second-round 312 and won the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling by 26 strokes. DePauw shot a 634 followed by William Woods at 660 and St. Mary's (Ind.) at 661.
Sarah Gates tied for the individual lead with a 153 including a second-round 75 and earned medalist honors for the tournament.
Kristen Kriegshauser finished fifth with a 160, while Lauren Brummett and Lisa Chambers tied for seventh at 162. Ali Murtaugh tied for 10th with a 163. Playing as an individual, Nicole Garza tied for 44th with a 177.
The Tigers compete in the Centre Invitational on April 22.
