Kleine named SCAC Player of the Week

April 24, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw sophomore outfielder Matt Kleine has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his performance in games from April 17-23.
Kleine went 10-for-13 in three games against Sewanee (.769) with seven RBI, a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .769 on-base percentage. That included six RBI in a 20-5 win on Sunday.
For the week, Kleine had 10 hits in 15 trips with three doubles, seven runs scored and seven runs driven in.
For the season, Kleine is batting .333 with a .442 slugging percentage and a team-high .449 on-base percentage. He has five doubles, three home runs, 35 runs scored, 22 runs driven in and has walked 25 times (tied for 12th in the SCAC).
DePauw opens SCAC Tournament play on Thursday against Millsaps at Tomahawk Stadium in Winchester, Tenn.
