Bondi falls in NCAA singles semifinals; doubles team plays for national title today

May 22, 2006, Santa Cruz, Calif. - Top-seeded Liz Bondi won the first set of her NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Singles semifinal match against fourth-seeded Kristen Riverta of Amherst, but Riverta won the final two sets and the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Earlier in the day, Bondi defeated eighth-seeded Ashley Kriwinsky of Kenyon by a 6-2, 6-2 score in the quarterfinals.
Bondi, the 2005 Division III singles runner-up, finished the season with a 22-1 singles record and heads into the 2006-07 season with a 93-8 career mark. She earned all-America honors for the third time in as many tries and was also an honorable mention all-America selection in basketball.
DePauw's top-seeded team of Bondi and Amrita Padda face Tara Houlihan and Lyndsey Palen of Gustavus Adolphus later today for the Division III national doubles title.
