October 24, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - Senior forward Becca Gaines has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week for games played from October 16 through Sunday, October 22.
Gaines had three goals, including two game winners, and added an assist for seven points in three DePauw wins last week.
Gaines scored two goals in Tuesday's 6-1 win at Earlham, including the game-winner. She had one goal in Friday's 2-1 victory at Washington & Jefferson, also netting the game-winner with just 1:03 remaining in regulation. Gaines assisted on the game's first goal in Saturday's 4-1 win at St. Vincent (Pa.).
For the season, Gaines is tied for second in the SCAC in points with 21 (8 goals and 5 assists).
