Fifth-ranked Tigers fall at Oglethorpe

January 7, 2007, Atlanta, Ga. - Biz Richmann's put-back bucket with ninth-tenths of a second left lifted host Oglethorpe to a 63-61 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over fifth-ranked DePauw.
DePauw dropped to 12-2 overall and 2-1 in the SCAC with the loss that snapped the Tigers' season streak at 11 and their SCAC regular season win string at 18. Oglethorpe improved to 10-4 overall and 2-1 in the SCAC.
Oglethorpe took a 31-24 lead into the break after holding the Tigers to 29.7 percent shooting from the floor. The Stormy Petrels extended the lead to as many as 11 with the last coming at 50-39 with 12:25 remaining.
The Tigers then scored six straight to close the gap to five and it was still five at 54-49 before Bridget Bailey's jumper and Cassie Pruzin's three tied the game at 54-54 with 6:14 left. Katie Kulavic's layup made it 56-54 and the Tigers took their only lead of the game after Bailey hit a jumper and McGonigal scored a layup at 2:57 to make it 58-56.
Oglethorpe's Hannah Brooks buried a three with 2:10 left and Tina Grace hit a layup with 20.7 seconds left to put Oglethorpe ahead 61-58, but Pruzin's three-pointer with 9.7 seconds left knotted the game at 61-61.
Suzy Doughty led the Tigers with 12 points and seven assists, while Emily Marshall grabbed nine rebounds.Kulavic and Anna Findley each scored 15 for Oglethorpe while Richmann added 11 and Grace followed with 10. Kulavic and Richmann each hauled down seven rebounds as DePauw held a 45-41 edge on the boards.DePauw committed 21 turnovers which the Stormy Petrels converted into 22 points.
