Tigers place five in double figures in win over Hendrix

January 12, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - Five Tigers scored in double figures as DePauw improved to 11-3 overall and 3-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference following a 75-62 win over visiting Hendrix. The Warriors dropped to 10-4 overall and 2-2 in the SCAC.
The Tigers jumped out to a 28-14 lead midway through the first half, but Hendrix battled back to withing five before DePauw took a 35-28 lead into the intermission.
DePauw led 38-33 in the opening two minutes of the second half, but David Foley hit a jumper and a three before Andrew King converted a three-point play to cap an 8-0 run that lifted Hendrix to a 41-38 lead with 17:34 left. The Tigers scored five straight to regain the lead, 43-41.
The Tigers briefly pushed the lead to eight before Hendrix closed the margin to 57-53, but DePauw then scored eight straight to extend the advantage to 65-53 with just over six minutes left. The Warriors got no closer than 10 the rest of the way.
Austin Brown led the Tigers with 16 points, while Brian Oilar notched 13 and Stephen Schott added 12. Mike Moore followed with 11 and Ryan Werntz added 11. Brown and Schott each grabbed eight rebounds as DePauw held a 35-27 edge on the boards and grabbed 14 on the offensive glass for a 16-3 advantage in second-chance points. Brown added four steals and two blocks.
Andrew King paced Hendrix with 21 points and six rebounds, while Michael Bennett added 16 points and a team-high five assists.
