Tigers Head to SCAC Tournament Ranked Seventh in Both National Polls

February 26, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - Following weekend wins at Sewanee and 25th-ranked Oglethorpe, the 22-3 Tigers are ranked seventh in both the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll and the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll.In the D3hoops.com rankings, DePauw totaled 467 points and moved up one spot from eighth as they're in the top 10 for the eighth time this season. Hope College leads with 615 points and 15 first-place votes, while Howard Payne is second with nine first-place votes and 6-4 points.
Since the D3hoops.com rankings began in 1999, DePauw has received votes in 137 of the 138 polls, earned a top 25 ranking 109 times and a spot in the top 10 for 42 weeks.
DePauw totaled 181 points and remained seventh in the coaches' poll. Hope leads with 248 points and eight first-place votes, while Howard Payne is second with one first-place vote and 238 points.
The Tigers finished as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Eastern Division's top seed after winning all 14 conference games this year.
DePauw opens SCAC tournament play in Conway, Ark., on Friday, February 29, when it takes on Southwestern at 1 p.m. CST.
