Pruzin Named SCAC Co-Player of the Week

DSC_0662.jpgFebruary 27, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw junior guard Cassie Pruzin was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for her performances for the week of February 18-24. She shared the honor with Austin's Katy Williams.

Pruzin scored 10 of seventh-ranked DePauw's final 16 points in Sunday's 76-73 win over 25th-ranked Oglethorpe including back-to-back three-pointers in less than 30 seconds which lifted the Tigers' lead from one ot seven

Pruzin averaged 20.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game as DePauw completed the SCAC regular season with a perfect 14-0 conference mark with victories over Sewanee (76-61) and Oglethorpe.

She shot 58.3 percent (14-24) from the field, including 61.5 percent (8-13) from three-point range.

For the season, Pruzin is averaging 13.8 points (11th in the SCAC), 6.6 rebounds (12th in the SCAC), 4.4 assists (third in the SCAC) and 2.5 steals (fourth in the SCAC) per game. She is shooting 82.4 percent from the foul line (seventh in the SCAC) and 39.7 percent (second in the SCAC) from three-point range.

The 22-3 Tigers open Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament play on Friday, February 29, against Southwestern at 1 p.m. CST.
