Tigers Sweep SCAC Honors for Second Straight Week

March 5, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - For the second consecutive week, eighth-ranked DePauw swept the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for games played from February 25 through March 2.

Junior outfielder Chelsy Patterson was named the SCAC Offensive Player of the Week after hitting .429 (6-14) and slugging .786 with a triple and a home run in four wins including a victory over 14th-ranked Coe College. Patterson drove in five runs and scored three times. 

Sophomore pitcher Megan Soultz earned Pitcher of the Week honors for a second straight week after going 4-0 including her second career no-hitter in a 12-0 win over Transylvania

In her four wins, Soultz worked 26.0 innings while allowing two earned runs and just nine hits. She struck out 39 and walked only two. After surrendering a leadoff homer to Maryville (Mo.) on Saturday, Soultz pitched 20 consecutive shutout innings while allowing just five hits. She tied a school record with 13 strikeouts in a two-hit shutout of Coe.
