Tigers Compete at Early Bird Invitational

March 22, 2008, Terre Haute, Ind. - Several Tigers competed at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Invitational with seven individuals and two relays taking home first-place finishes.

Katie Gernand won the long jump at 15-11 (4.85 meters), while Brittany Ray took first in the hammer throw with a toss of 128-11 (39.29 meters).

Courtney Thomas won the shot put with a throw of 39-2.25 (11.94 meters) with Lauren Reich finishing first in the 1,500-meter run in 4:44.94 and the 800 meters in 2:20.98.

Lauren Auld won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.39 seconds and the 100 dash in 13.39, while Jessica Pond finished first in the 400 meters in 1:01.37 as did Taylor Penrod in the 5,000 meters in 18:42.91

DePauw's 4 x 100 relay won in 52.03 seconds and the 4x 400 relay took first in 4:07.00.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, April 5, when they host the DePauw Invitational at Blackstock Stadium.
