DePauw Places Second at SCAC Championships

April 26, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw totaled 207 points and finished second at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at Blackstock Stadium. Rhodes won with 237.5 points and Trinity was third with 124.5.

Lauren Reich captured two conference titles as she won the 800 meters in 2:19.99 and the 1500 meters in 4:40.78. Brittany Ray won the hammer throw at 38.54 meters (126-5) and Adrienne Cobb took the shot put with a throw of 12.59 meters (41-3.75).

Courtney Thomas placed second in three events with a discus throw of 33.79 meters (110-10), a shot out of 12.26 meters (40-2.75) and a hammer throw of 34.09 meters (111-10). Meredith McGrady earned all-SCAC honors with a third-place finish in the hammer throw at 33.07 meters (108-6) as did Katie Gernand in the long jump at 4.99 meters (16-4.5)

Allison Case placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:36.20, while Alana DeWitt was third in the 10,000 meters in 41:23.22. Lauren Auld placed third in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.06 seconds as did Brittany Brand in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:08.56 and Alison Case in the steeplechase in 11:36.20.

DePauw's 4x100-meter relay of Auld, Jessica Pond, Jackie Boehmler and Nicole Stein was second in 50.73 seconds as was the 4x400-meter relay of Pond, Gernand, Stein and Reich in 4:09.19.
