Pair of Tigers Earn All-Mideast Honors

May 27, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - Senior pitcher John Tschantz and junior designated hitter/first baseman Mike Stout have been named to the Division III Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association All-Mideast Team.
Tschantz earned second team honors after being named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year.
He finished the season with an 8-3 record and a 2.45 earned run average which ranked third in the conference. Opponents hit just .235 off of him and in his four SCAC regular season games, the senior posted a 4-0 record with a 0.96 ERA.
Stout was an honorable mention choice as a designated hitter after earning first team all-SCAC accolades. He finished with a .373 batting average and led the Tigers with nine homers and a .676 slugging percentage. Stout also scored 49 runs and drove in 40.
The Tigers finished the season with a school-record 35 wins against just 11 losses and placed third at the SCAC tournament.
