Tigers Suffer Defeat for First Time This Year

September 13, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - Seventh-ranked Ohio Wesleyan scored twice in a seven-minute span of the second half and delivered DePauw its first loss of the season by a 2-1 count. The Tigers dropped to 2-1-1, while Ohio Wesleyan improved to 5-1.

Travis Wall got the Battling Bishops on the board when his header from Phil Serfaty's corner at 72:55 made it 1-0. Blake Pifer scored at 79:57 on Will Murawski's assist to push the margin to 2-0 before DePauw's Brian Lawless trimmed the lead in half at 87:40 on a header from Kreigh Kamman's cross.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot DePauw 12-7 and held a 17-5 advantage in corners. DePauw's Ted Jacobi recorded 10 saves, while Richard Ott totaled five for the Bishops.

DePauw hosts Wabas on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
