Fifth-ranked Tigers Take One-Stroke Lead after First Round

September 27, 2008, Clayton, Ind. - Fifth-ranked DePauw shot an opening-round 320 and leads the DePauw Small College Classic by one stroke over Otterbein. Second and final round play at the Deer Creek Golf Club takes place on Sunday.
Centre's Emily Bachert leads the field with a 72, while DePauw's Nikki Garza and Otterbein's Catherine Brunoehler each shot 76.
Other DePauw scores included Taylor Beaty in a fifth-place tie at 78, Annie Mail in a tie for 11th with an 82 and Natalie Gough and Meagan Hayes each in a tie for 18th at 84.
Playing as individuals, Kelly Gaughan is tied for 27th at 86, while Ali Rifkin is tied for 42nd at 89 and Nicole Mirjanich is tied for 59th with a 94.
