Fitch Earns Second d3football.com Honor of Season

Fitch_Alex_2008fb150x200.jpgOctober 31, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw junior defensive end Alex Fitch has been selected to the selected to the D3football.com Defensive Team of the Week for his performance in the Tigers' 37-34 overtime win over Colorado College.

In addition to totaling five tackles, one quarterback hurry and sharing a tackle for loss, Fitch blocked a third quarter extra point and a fourth quarter field goal which allowed DePauw to force overtime with a game-tying score with 13 seconds left. The junior has blocked five kicks on the season.

Earlier in the week he earned Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors. This is Fitch's second d3football,com honor of the season and third of his career as he earned the accolade after this year's win over Sewanee and last year's victory at Colorado College.

DePauw (5-2, 3-2 SCAC) travels to Sherman, Texas, for a Saturday SCAC contest at Austin College (5-3, 3-2). Kickoff is set for Noon CDT with WGRE carrying the game live.
