Three Tigers Headed to NCAA Women's Championships

March 16, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Three DePauw swimmers are headed to Minneapolis to compete in the NCAA Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. The Tigers will be represented at the national meet by senior Amanda Stier, sophomore Callie Boehme and freshman Catie Baker.
Competition begins on Wednesday, March 18 and continues through Saturday, March 21. Complete information including links to live results and video is available through the host site.
Stier will compete in the 200-yard butterfly where she enters with the sixth-fastest time of 2:05.40. She'll also swim the 200 individual medley with the 16th fastest time of 2:07.37 and the 100 fly with a time of 57.34 seconds which ranks 21st.
Boehme enters with the 16th fastest time in the 1,650 freestyle in 17:22.09 and the 21st in the 400 IM in 4:34.21. She also will swim the 500 free in which she has the 47th fastest time of 5:06.62.
Baker's time of 2:22.01 in the 200 breaststroke is 14th, while her 100 breast time of 1:06.05 is 23rd. She'll also swim the 200 IM and is 38th in 2:09.60.
Stier is competing in her fourth NCAA Championships, while Boehme is making her second appearance after competing last year. Last year the Tigers finished ninth in Division III as Stier was eighth in the 200 fly and 14th in the 100 fly and a member of three all-America relays and a fourth which earned honorable mention all-America distinction. She also was earned honorable mention all-America honors in 2007 with an 11th place showing in the 200 fly and was part of four relays which were honorable mention all-America in 2006.
Boehme earned honorable mention all-America honors last year in the 400 IM and 1,650 free.
