Peterson Named SCAC Pitcher of the Week

Peterson_Mike_2008DPUBaseball.jpgMarch 17, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. —  DePauw sophomore pitcher Mike Peterson hurled his first collegiate shutout in Sunday's 8-0 win at Rhodes and, in the process, earned Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors. He shared the distinction with Rhodes' Andy Holt who blanked the Tigers on Saturday.

Peterson allowed just four singles while striking out nine in tossing the nine-inning complete game. With the win the Tigers won the series and Peterson improved to 2-1 on the season.

The 8-5 Tigers travel to Winter Haven, Fla., where they'll play six games starting with two on Sunday, March 22, against Wisconsin-Oshkosh and St. Thomas (Minn.).
