Gerlach Named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team

gerlach_brad_2009baseball.jpgJune 1, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. —  DePauw junior pitcher Brad Gerlach has been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District College Division Baseball Second Team in voting by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Dyer, Ind., resident had a 3.39 cumulative grade point average through the fall semester while majoring in biochemistry.

On the field, Gerlach recorded a 7-3 record including a 2.34 earned run average. He led the Tigers with three complete games and 52 strikeouts as opponents batted just .259 against him.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
