DePauw Extends Win Streak to 10 with Win over Pirates

January 22, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw held visiting Southwestern to just 11 first-half points and never trailed in a 67-38 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over the Pirates.
The Tigers improved to 14-3 overall and 7-1 in the SCAC with their 10th straight win, while Southwestern dropped to 8-9 overall and 4-4 in the conference. The victory was DePauw's 45th straight at home and 62nd consecutive during the regular season. It also marked the Tigers' 50 straight home SCAC win.
DePauw scored the game's first six points on the way to a 29-11 halftime lead. They then opened the second half with a 9-0 run and stretched the lead to 27.
Katie Mathews (pictured) led the Tigers with 15, while Jenna Fernandez followed with 10. Fernandez, Emily Marshall, Ellie Pearson and Danielle Boraz each grabbed seven rebounds as the Tigers held a 47-26 margin on the boards and hauled down 20 offensive rebounds.
Shae Seagraves paced Southwestern with 11 points and Katie Kern grabbed five rebounds.
DePauw hosts Trinity tomorrow night at 6 p.m., while Southwestern travels to Centre.
