Hoffman Named SCAC Baseball Offensive Player of the Week

February 23, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw senior infielder Taylor Hoffman has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performances in DePauw's season-opening series.
In the Tigers' four games, Hoffman went 7-for-14 at the plate for a.500 batting average while scoring four runs and notching a double. He also tallied a two-run homer in Sunday's nightcap to beat Maryville (Tenn.), 2-1.
For the week, Hoffman posted a .786 slugging percentage as well as a .533 on-base percentage to tally 1.319 OPS (on-base plus slugging).
The 2-2 Tigers split the four-game series and return to action on Sunday, February 28, against Transylvania. The doubleheader is scheduled for St. Xavier High School in Louisville, Ky.
DePauw was originally scheduled to play a doubleheader at Anderson on Saturday but that has been postponed.
