Wittenberg Leads Katman Klassic; DePauw in Second

April 10, 2010, Danville, Ind. —  Wittenberg, ranked 18th in Division III, shot an opening-round 295 and leads host DePauw by four strokes at the Katman Klassic at Twin Bridges Golf Club. Benedictine (Ill.) is third at 308 followed by Edgewood (324), Wabash (329) and Manchester (336).

DePauw's Nick Reardon leads the field with a 70, while Wittenberg's Ben Smith is second with a 71.

Other DePauw scores included: Ryan Berra 75 (tie-5th), Peter Haller 76 (tie-8th), Ronnie Harris 78 (tie-12th) and Chase King 79 (tie-15th). Playing as individuals: Jake Walsh 79 (tie-15th), Kyle Robbins 80 (18th), Matt Coffin 83 (tie-25th), Stewart Burns 84 (31st) and Nathan Smith 87 (35th).

Second and final round play begins tomorrow morning.
