Ross Named SCAC Co-Pitcher of the Week

ross_elliott_2009baseball.jpgApril 21, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. —  DePauw sophomore pitcher Elliott Ross has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week for his performance in DePauw's win over Centre on Sunday.

Ross tossed a seven-inning, complete game shutout in the 10-0 series finale win at Centre. He scattered just five hits in his seven innings while yielding no runs and struck out six.

The left-hander shared the honor with Rhodes' Hunter Chandler. Ross earned similar honors two weeks ago. With Sunday's win he improved to 8-1 on the season and has won his last eight decisions.

DePauw opens Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament play on Thursday, April 22, when it takes on Austin at 7 p.m. CDT. The tournament takes place at USA Baseball Stadium in Millington, Tenn. OFFICIAL SITE
