Fenlon Earns Top SCAC Honors; Three Tigers Earn All-Conference Honors

89736February 26, 2011, Jackson, Miss. —  Leading DePauw to a 17-8 record entering the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, head coach Bill Fenlon has been named the conference's Coach of the Year second time in his career in voting by the league's 12 head coaches.

The winningest coach in school history has led the program to its 26th winning season in the last 29 years and hist DePauw teams have amassed a 325-171 record in 19 seasons. 

In 25 seasons as a collegiate head coach, his teams are 432-240. He previously earned the honor in 2002 after leading the Tigers to the national quarterfinals and a final ranking of fourth by D3hoops.com.

Junior forward Sean Haseley was named to the all-SCAC second team and entered the tournament as the Tigers' leading scorer with 14.1 points per game. He also paces the team with 52 three-pointers, 43.7 percent shooting from beyond the arc and 83.2 percent free throw shooting. 

Haseley also is second with 5.1 rebounds per contest. He topped the 20-point plateau on five occasions with a high of 25 points in a home win over Oglethorpe. Haseley was an honorable mention selection last year.

Senior forward/center Ryan Sever was voted to the third team and is averaging 8.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 59.2 percent from the field including 43.5 percent from three-point range. Over the final five games of the season he averaged 18.0 points and 7.0 rebounds. He scored a high of 26 against Sewanee in his final collegiate home game.

Senior center Joe Bergfeld was an honorable mention selection.
