Trinity Blanks Rhodes and Advances in SCAC Softball Championship Winner's Bracket

April 22, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — On the strength of two homers and the one-hit pitching of Colbie Devot, Trinity advanced in the winner's bracket of the 2011 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Championship with a 3-0 win over Rhodes.
Trinity (19-22) advanced to play Southwestern in today's 2 p.m. contest, while Rhodes (25-16) plays in tomorrow's Saturday's 11 a.m. loser's bracket game.
Lindsay Weyand it a solo homer in the second which gave Trinity a 1-0 lead. In the third, Megan Russell hit a two-run shot to make it 3-0.
Trinity totaled eight hits with Weyand finishing with two. Rhodes' lone hit came from Elise Suna in the seventh inning.
Devot struck out 12 in tossing the one-hit complete game and improved to 12-11. Sara Bowen dropped to 13-6 with the loss.
