Lauer Tied for Sixth after Four Events of NCAA Heptathlon

May 26, 2011, Delaware, Ohio — DePauw's Courtney Lauer is tied for sixth place through four events of the women's heptathlon at the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships.
Lauer totaled 2,828 points and is tied with Caitlin Wilson of Central College. Emma Dewart of Ithaca leads with 3,079 points, followed by Kelly Curtis of Springfield (2967), Kaney Helland of Gustavus Adolphus (2874), Camesha Goods of Wartburg (2852) and Ashley Bault of Marietta (2833).
Lauer started the day by totaling 743 points after finishing the 100-meter hurdles in 15.77 seconds before adding 736 points after a high jump of 1.60 meters (5-3).
She followed that with a tie for second in the shot put at 11.29 meters (37-0.5) for 614 points. Lauer then totaled 735 points after finishing the 200 meters in 26.72 seconds.
The heptathlon wraps up on Friday with the long jump, javelin throw and 800 meters.
