DePauw Improves to 18-9 with 3-0 Win at Ohio Wesleyan

October 19, 2011, Delaware, Ohio — DePauw improved to 18-9 overall and 9-4 in North Coast Athletic Conference play following a 3-0 (25-10, 25-9, 25-16) win over host Ohio Wesleyan. The Battling Bishops dropped to 2-26 overall and 1-12 in conference play.
The Tigers opened the match by hitting .560 in the opening set as they scored 13 of the last 15 points. DePauw also scored 15 of the last 17 points in the second set before taking the third set as well.
Abby Balbach paced DePauw with 10 kills, while Katie Petrovich had nine. Brianna Holder led with 31 assists and Kylee Lehrman totaled four aces as the Tigers had 12 as a team. Balbach and Holder each had nine digs with Holder and Mary Kate Etling finishing with two blocks apiece.
Katie Fain paced Ohio Wesleyan with seven kills with Brittany Vickers totaling 16 assists. Megan Weissenberger led with eight digs and shared the team lead with Ashley Haynes as each had two blocks.
DePauw hit .302 for the match to Ohio Wesleyan's .011.
The Tigers travel to Hanover tomorrow for a 7 p.m. match before returning home on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest with Denison and a 7 p.m. match with Bluffton.Back
