Brown and Wagner Earn D3football.com All-America Honors

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw senior left guard Lewis Brown (Poway, Calif./Poway) and junior kick returner Taylor Wagner (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) have been recognized by D3football.com as each was selected to its annual All-America Team. Brown earned second team honors, while Wagner was an honorable mention choice.
Brown (left) started the final 39 games of his DePauw career and was a captain on this year's squad. He averaged 8.9 knockdowns per game and allowed just two sacks in the team's 289 pass attempts. Brown earned a coaches' grade of 91 percent for the season. A D3football.com second team preseason all-America selection, Brown was a third team all-region choice last year and a first teamer this season.
Wagner (pictured right) ranked third in Division III with a kickoff return average of 31.3 yards and was 24th in punt returns at 12.4 yards. He returned a punt for a touchdown in the season-opening win at Rose-Hulman and took a kickoff 95 yards for a score at Sewanee. He was a first team all-region choice as well.
Brown and Wagner join four other DePauw players who earned D3football.com All-America honors since the first teams were selected in 1999.
Tyler Kelley was a 1999 honorable mention pick, while JaMarcus Shephard was a first team kick returner in 2003 and Dustin Hertel an honorable mention defensive end in 2006. Alex Koors earned first team honors at receiver in 2009 and was a third team choice last year.
The Tigers finished the season with a 4-5 record and picked up wins in three of their final four games.
