DePauw finishes second at GLCA; Shaffer wins third straight individual title

Paced by Natalie Shaffer's individual first-place finish, the DePauw women finished second at the Great Lakes Colleges Association Championships in Richmond, Indiana.

 

Shaffer, who has won the GLCA meet each of the last two years, finished the 5,000 meters in 18:53 which was 25 seconds ahead of Denison's Elaine Binkley.

 

Emily Mason placed fifth in 19:40 followed by Katy Quirk in 12th at 20:11, Jenni Lee in 14th in 20:18 and Amanda Royalty in 16th (20:22).

 

DePauw finished with 48 points behind Denison with 28. Complete results are available here.

 

The Tigers return to action on Friday, September 19, at the Indiana Intercollegiates in Terre Haute.
