Number-one ranked Tigers win Golden Isle Classic

Jekyll Island, Ga. - DePauw, ranked number one in Division III, won its fourth tournament of the season and finished ahead of third-ranked and defending national champion Methodist by 12 strokes in the two-day Golden Isle Classic.

 

The Tigers shot a two-round 634 including a 312 in Saturday's first round. Jessica Schneider, the top-ranked Division III golfer, claimed medalist honors for the third time this year by shooting a 150 (72-78). Sarah Gates placed fourth at 158 (78-80) and Deborah Garriott was fifth at 180 (79-81). Lindsay Amore shot a 166 (83-83) and Lauren Brummett followed with a 188 (98-90). Playing as an individual, Lisa Chambers shot a 166 (79-87).

 

DePauw competes in the Northern Kentucky Invitational on March 27-28.
