Tigers open SCAC play with win over Rose-Hulman

October 1, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw improved to 4-4 overall and 1-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference after a 2-0 win over visiting Rose-Hulman. The Engineers dropped to 4-3-1 overall and 0-1 in the SCAC.

Katy Phillips scored at 68:07 with an assist from Abby Gerwin and Lindsay Lund sealed the victory with an unassisted score at 78:59.

DePauw outshot the Engineers 16-4 and held a 5-3 advantage in corners. Brooke Shipley recorded two saves in posting the shutout, while Rachel Miller had five saves for Rose-Hulman.

The Tigers host Southwestern on Friday.
