Tenth-ranked Tigers off to best start ever after 2-1 win over Wittenberg

September 9, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - The 10th-ranked Tigers improved to 3-0 for the first time in school history following a 2-1 win over visiting Wittenberg. Wittenberg dropped to 1-2 with the loss.
Katy Phillips gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead on an assist from Sarah Hile in the 22nd minute. Davis Federspiel made it 2-0 at 54:00 on an assist from Jacki Ponder. Wittenberg's Lisa Rusch cut the lead in half on an assist from Emily Murray in the 75th minute. The Tigers outshot Wittenberg 7-5 and held an 8-5 advantage in corners. Brooke Shipley recorded four saves for DePauw, while Meghan O'Rourke totaled for Wittenberg. DePauw hosts Earlham at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Back
