DePauw Advances to NCAA Third Round with Win over Kenyon

May 3, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - Eighth-ranked DePauw advanced to the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship third round following a 5-0 second-round win over 26th-ranked Kenyon at the Blackstock Courts.
DePauw improved to 22-4 on the season, while the Ladies finished the year at 16-6. The Tigers' third-round opponent will be fifth-ranked Denison which defeated Albion, 6-0, in today's other second-round match. Sunday's third-round is slated to start at 12:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to the national quarterfinals.
The Tigers opened by winning all three doubles matches as Janelle Arita and Kelly Buckley won at the number-two slot by an 8-1 score over Alexis Marino and Paige MacDonald and the number three duo of Kristine Lewry and Greer Mackie took an 8-4 win over Eva Ceja and Molly Yost.
The number one team of Erin Andrade and Kayla Smith wrapped up the doubles sweep with an 8-6 win over Prita Kidder and Meredith Brown.
Buckley was the first singles winner as she claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win over Brown at the number two flight before Betsey Flanzer defeated Marino at number five by a 6-3, 6-4 count.
