Rush Earns SCAC Player of the Week Honors
DePauw sophomore guard Lindsey Rush (Waynetown, Ind./North Montgomery) has earned Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for games played from February 7-13.
In weekend wins over Southwestern and 17th-ranked Trinity, Rush totaled 44 points in 51 minutes. She came off the bench in Friday's 63-55 victory over Southwestern to post career highs of 25 points and seven rebounds in 24 minutes. Rush scored 19 of those points in the second half.
In Sunday's 89-76 victory over Trinity, Rush totaled 19 points in her first career start. She totaled 17 of those points in the decisive second half and nailed four three-pointers.
For the week, Rush hit 12 of 24 field goal attempts and seven of 10 from three-point range. She also converted 13 of 16 free throws and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Rush leads the Tigers in scoring and is 10th in the SCAC at 12.6 points per game. She is the second DePauw player this season to earn SCAC Player of the Week honors as guard Katie Imborek did so in week five.
The Tigers, 17-5 overall and 12-3 in the SCAC, moved to within one-half game of league-leading Trinity with the wins and are at Rose-Hulman on Thursday for a 6 p.m. game.
