MacKay earns first team all-SCAC honors; Huffman Coach of the Year

February 27, 2002 - DePauw senior Sarah MacKay (Roanoke, Ind./Huntington North) was named to the all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team in voting by the conference's 10 head coaches.

MacKay led the Tigers in scoring with 11.7 points and 3.2 assists per game and 79.0 percent free throw shooting. The 5-9 guard was an honorable mention selection last year.

Freshman forward Amy Argetsinger (Ballwin, Mo./John Burroughs) was named the conference's Newcomer of the Year after finishing the regular season with 10.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting at a 50 percent clip.

Head coach Kris Huffman was named the SCAC Coach of the Year for the second time in the Tigers' four years of competition in the conference. The ninth-year coach picked up her fourth conference coach of the year honor in her career.

Huffman, the winningest coach in school history has recorded a 169-61 record and is leading the Tigers into their fourth NCAA appearance in the last seven years when DePauw hosts Maryville (Tenn.) in a second-round game on Saturday, March 2, at 3 p.m.
