Bondi named SCAC co-Player of the Week

DSC_8481.jpgJanuary 4, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - Senior forward Liz Bondi has been named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance in four wins between December 18-31. She shared the honor with Oglethorpe's Biz Richmann.

Bondi was named MVP of the Surf N' Slam Classic after leading fifth-ranked DePauw to the tournament championship which included wins over 21st-ranked Medaille and NAIA's 15th-ranked and host Point Loma.

She scored 19 points in the championship game win over Point Loma.

For the two-week period, Bondi, who had sat out the team's previous two games due to injury, averaged 14.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game and shot 54.1% (20-37) from the field and 72.7% (16-22) from the charity line. She also had six assists and seven steals.

The honor was Bondi's second of the season and sixth of her career.

DePauw (11-1) puts its 10-game win streak on the line on Friday when it travels to Sewanee for a 6 p.m. CST game. LISTEN LIVE.
